Weddings San Miguel ceremony

In Mexico there are two different types of wedding ceremonies, civil and religious. Civil ceremonies are performed by a judge and are considered the only legal option in Mexico, as well as the United States. The requirements for a civil ceremony are as follows:

  • copies of both passports
  • sworn copies of both birth certificates from the state in which they were issued
  • sworn copies of any divorce certificates from the state in which they were issued
  • blood tests performed in Mexico and a doctor's certificate (Weddings San Miguel will assist with these requirements)
  • sworn legal proof that the bride and groom are unmarried from the state in which you live

Religious ceremony options in San Miguel are either the Catholic or the Episcopal church. The Catholic church requires a long list of paperwork, which will be provided for you. The Episcopal church requires no paperwork. A third option, another type of religious or non-denominational ceremony, can also be performed in a garden setting.

We can provide a ceremony in a church, private home, a garden, a ghost town....whatever your personal or religious preference.
